Professional currency requirements

Paramedics applying to register with CPPEI or renewing their general registration must demonstrate currency of professional knowledge and skills.

Applicants must meet one of the following requirements within the three years preceding the date of the application or general registration renewal:

Completion of the education requirements; or
Active practice of paramedicine without any restrictions for at least 1,125 hours; or
Completion of a refresher program in paramedicine approved by the Council.

Once registered, the College members track their active practice hours within the online registration system - HMS.

Update your contact information if it changes

Replace expired mandatory documents like certificate of professional liability insurance

Keep track of your professional currency hours

Keep track of your continuing education and competency activities
