Special Registration

Paramedics already registered in another regulated Canadian province who want to work in PEI for a limited time and for a special purpose only can apply for special registration with CPPEI.

Special registration is valid for 30 days.

Special registrants are not eligible for reinstatement or annual renewal but may apply for special registration up to three times in a registration year.

Application process

To apply for special registration:

Set up an account in the online registration system - HMS; select special as your registration type
Pay the application fee for special registration
After receiving your payment, the Registrar will approve your HMS account - you will receive an email confirmation.
Complete all mandatory information in your profile
Request a verification letter or letter of good standing from the regulatory body in your primary jurisdiction of practice to be sent directly to the CPPEI Registrar (the contact form on this website may be used for that purpose)
Upload the criminal record screening results document (under Miscellaneous in your HMS profile)
After the Registrar reviews and approves your information and provided documents, you will be prompted to pay the registration fee

After the application steps are completed and your payment processed, you will receive a confirmation of your registration via email. Find your receipts and registration certificate in your HMS account under Payment history.

Registration or renewal: completing your application in the online registration system

In your member profile, make sure to fill out all mandatory information that applies to you and submit the required documents. Registration fee payments will not be accepted before the application is complete.

Once your information and documentation are complete, and reviewed and approved by the Registrar, the system will prompt you to pay the applicable registration fee.

It is your professional responsibility to keep your College member profile up to date—once registered, you can access your account at any time:

Update your contact information if it changes

Replace expired mandatory documents like certificate of professional liability insurance

Keep track of your professional currency hours

Keep track of your continuing education and competency activities
